The dual Meissner effect by instantons
نویسنده
چکیده
The classical Yang-Mills equation of motion is numerically investigated in the Lorentz gauge for a SU(2) gauge group. The color-electric field of two point-like charges is studied in the " empty " vacuum and in a state with an instanton present. We found that the color-electric field lines are expelled from the instanton region giving rise to a dual Meissner effect. The origin of this effect is discussed. The results indicate that a color-electric flux tube forms between static color sources in a phase of strongly correlated instantons.

Confinement and Bose Condensation in Gauge Theory of High-Tc Superconductors
The issue of confinement and bose condensation is studied for gauge models of high-Tc superconductors. First the Abelian-Higgs model in (2+1)D, i.e., XY-model coupled to lattice gauge field aμ with coupling g, is studied taking into account both the instantons and vortices. This model corresponds to integer filling of the bosons, and can be mapped to a dual superconductor. Our main resut is tha...

The classical Yang-Mills equation of motion is numerically investigated in the Lorentz gauge for a SU(2) gauge group. The major effect for a fixed orientation of the instanton is that the color-electric field lines are expelled or attracted from the instanton region depe...

There are two distinct pictures of the vacuum structure in QCD. One is based on the appearance of color-magnetic monopoles (QCDmonopoles) after performing the abelian gauge xing [1]. The recent lattice QCD simulations show that the dual Meissner e ect brought to the QCD vacuum by QCD-monopole condensation [2]. Hence, color con nement could be regarded as the dual version of the superconductivit...
متن کاملMagnetic Monopoles and the Topology of Gauge Fields
There are two basic low energy features of strong interactions, which should be explained by QCD: confinement and spontaneous breaking of chiral symmetry. While the latter can be more or less explained in terms of instantons [1], confinement is much less understood. Recently, however, much evidence has been accumulated for the idea that confinement is realized as a dual Meissner effect [2], at ...
متن کاملThe dual Meissner effect in SU(2) Landau gauge
The dual Meissner effect is observed without monopoles in quenched SU(2) QCD with Landau gauge-fixing. Abelian as well as non-Abelian electric fields are squeezed. Magnetic displacement currents which are time-dependent Abelian magnetic fields play a role of solenoidal currents squeezing Abelian electric fields. Monopoles are not always necessary to the dual Meissner effect. The squeezing of th...
